From January 2009 until April 30 2011 ASAP Africa Malawi implemented a successful Village Savings & Lending Project in Southern Malawi. Over 7,000 people were actively participating in the "Chimvano pa Chuma" Unity for Economic Growth VS&L project when, due to financial constraints and the resignation of the Country Director, the US Board of Directors decided to close the program.

Tthe Malawi Board of Trustees expressed interest in continuing the program and ASAP has donated the program assets to support this effort. We wish them success in building on the excellent accomplishments and great work done so far. As of May 1 2011 contributions to this program are no long tax deductible.
